On the flea market yesterday I bought two silver plates on stands. I plan on using them as jewelry display when I attend fairs.
I know, they are dirty and distressed and I really should polish them. Should. I'm not so sure I want to though, I happen to like the look of them.

After work today David and I headed to GÃ¥rda. It's a part of Gothenburg with old neglected houses that the city wants to tear down. There have not been any renovations done for a very long time and the people living in the houses are doing so under the fear of being evicted any day. There's a lot of artists and creative people living in GÃ¥rda and to raise awareness for the neighbourhood they organize a flea market once a year. The city neglects these houses until there is nothing left to do but tear them down, but many people think (me included) that they should restore the entire neighbourhood instead like they did in the now incredibly beautiful part of town called Haga. It's so sad to see these lovely houses get destroyed.
The fleamarket was held at the courtyard behind this house.
Look at that man with the hat and mustache! Fabulous!
A really happy Lotta with today's finds. A dress, a skirt and two silver plates with stands. All for only 60 kr (8.4 USD)!
My phone is filled with photos from this week. Let's take a peek.
Last saturday I had to work extra and on my way there I stopped to look at my city from across the water. I work at an island called Hisingen that's a part of Gothenburg.
I went to buy some sushi to bring to work. Speed in my steps.
It was Göteborgsvarvet that day. A half marathon going through Gothenburg every year. The runners pass just outside my work so we had a great view.
A dog living the good life.
Some fresh mint tea with honey one late evening after work.
Olskroken by night. This is my neighbourhood.
On the ferry going to work. I take the bike to and from the ferry. I love this so much; the two best ways to travel.
View from the ferry. They used to build ships here. Not so much anymore I think, maybe just repairs. Not sure though.
Sankt Pauli church right next to where I live. I pass this every day and sometimes, during night time, it looks just like Hogwarts.
One morning I realised my hair has become insanely long. I really need to go to a hairdresser!
Yesterday I was supposed to meet a friend for coffee at Trädgårdsföreningen.
When I got there rain clouds took over the sky. We had to go to a café with roof instead. I snapped this just before I left. I love this place.
Went to a café at the Central station instead.
On my way home I passed this parkway. It's so green! Spring has exploded over Gothenburg this last week.
Yours truly from the sofa late last night.

I have looked at this postcard so many times thinking it was time to make this the Postcard of the week. But then I always choose another one instead. Because these children show the entire spectrum of feelings.
The girl with the dark hat in the back row is not happy at all. She is miserable actually. The middle girl in the polka dot dress however is giving us the most fabulous smile you could ever think of. And look at the boy to the far right in the front row sitting there all upright and proud. The boy on the other side pulls his knees close to his body. He is scared, I think.
Who are these children? They are dirty and their clothes are more or less rugged. I'm thinking they might be from an orphanage but why would they end up in a postcard if that is the case? A card that actually seems to be a photo of a photo to judge by the black slanted angle.
I'm struck with so many feelings from this card and on one hand I'm laughing because they look so mischievous and on the other hand their sad faces makes my heart ache.
And what is that paper the boy in the middle is carrying?
What do you think? What are your thoughts on this photo?
